Vision becomes
reality... |

It all started on
a hot June day in 1995, when Mike Letourneau and
a friend went out to enjoy a round of golf. As
the group was given the five-minute call,
Mike decided to walk back to the pro shop to
inquire about some sunscreen. Fortunately, they
carried a single use packet for only a dollar
and some change.
While walking to the first tee, he peeled
open the packet and began applying the saturated
towelette to his face and arms. Although it was
convenient, it was terribly messy and difficult
to apply evenly. What's more, it left a greasy
residue on his hands, which he desperately tried
to remove as he approached his first tee ball.
As he stood over the ball and began his
backswing movement, vivid images of a rotating
metal driver shimmering against the afternoon
sky filled his mind. Electric impulses
sent messages to his metacarpals and phalanges
demanding an increase in grip pressure from both
the left and the right hands. And then, in an
effort to hold onto his club through the swing,
there was impact ... below average impact ...
and the shot was airborne.
The tee ball, while in play, was pushed
right, annoying him greatly. This was, after
all, his first shot of the day! While walking
down the fairway approaching his second, he
frantically continued to wipe the residue from
his hands. It was at this point he thought ...
what if ...?
After the round, the two went down the street to
grab a beer and laugh about the day while the
idea fresh in the back of Mike's mind, continued
to intrigue him. "What if we make a two sided
packet that holds sunscreen lotion on one side
and a grease cutting towelette on the other?" he
exclaimed! And with that thought, a few sketches
on a napkin and a little effort, the great
concept of SunAegis was born.
